After That

This is my Senior Thesis project. I created an imaginary universe for an open-world RPG and its series, which breaks the constraints of time frames and contemporary civilization. In this amoral and timeless wonderland, my goal is to explore the essence of nature, including the natural world, human nature, humanity, artificial creations, and transcendental power. Additionally, I wish to introduce the idea of post-humanism.

To reject anthropocentric assumptions, I believe that "the world is not inert matter, raw material, or a backdrop for human activities, but a partner in creation and existence" (Phillippy, 36). Humans will be able to gain power and abilities from nature by participating in rituals that randomly occur in the world with transcendental natural power. Other creatures will also have these transforming opportunities. The creatures who are blessed by these transforming rituals are called shapeshifters. However, due to genetic mutation, shapeshifters are unable to give birth.

This universe will not be dominated by humans. Therefore, the planet will mostly be covered in rainforests, oceans, and glaciers. The main story will take place in the subtropical monsoon climate region, where human society is in chaos. There is no strong government, and laws only exist in name. The landscape should resemble a wasteland in the forest. There are numerous gangs, and people arm themselves for protection. Even children know how to survive, fight, and kill. There is transcendental power, but also technology.
